As young Kentuckians, we have two options: shape the future of the place we call home, or continue to shape the future of the industries that are destroying it.
With the Just Transition movement bubbling out of Appalachia and Southeastern Kentucky, our generation is showing that we are not apathetic to the future of our home. We’re seeing more and more groups of people committing themselves to working towards a just economic transition. For KY, that means an economy less dependent on resource extraction and other large industries that harm our communities. It means keeping money where it belongs: in our communities.
