ASIAN STUDIES: Talk by Vanderbilt Scholar on “A Year in Baghdad as an Embedded Professor”

  
Dr. Katherine Blue Carroll, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Director of the Program in Public Policy Studies at Vanderbilt University, will present “‘What Do You Bring to the Fight?’ A Year in Baghdad as an Embedded Professor” on Tuesday, May 3, at 7 p.m. in Room 108 of Crabbe Library.

From 2008 to 2009, Dr. Carroll worked as a social scientist on a Human Terrain Team in Baghdad. Human Terrain Teams were developed to provide expert social and political advice to brigade commanders and soldiers on the ground in war zones.

Free and open to the public. Attendance slips available. Sponsored by the Asian Studies Program, the Intelligence Studies Program, and the Student Government Association.
