EKU TO TEST ALL SIREN MESSAGES ON SATURDAY, AUG. 6 at 12:20PM

Nearby neighborhoods can expect additional sirens and messages when EKU conducts a test of its alert system on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 12:20 p.m.

In addition to the regularly scheduled test by the Madison County Emergency Management Agency, the University will test the four sirens located on its Richmond campus.

For those within range of the EKU sirens, the sequence will be as follows:

•Live Siren Test (Madison County's standard monthly test) - Westminster chimes followed by a test message

•Live PA Broadcast announcing the tests (followed by tests of the Text-to-Speech Engine, Siren followed by Seek-Shelter Message, Siren followed by Evacuate Message, and Live PA Broadcast closing message to note completion)

If there is an actual emergency during the time of the tests, the tests will be stopped, and a "real world" emergency announcement will be made over the public address system.

Event Date: August 06  12:20PM  Location: Richmond Campus
