Healing From Racial Trauma: Using Expressive Arts
Join us in creating art pieces (using drawing, painting, clay, poetry/spoken word) with the theme of healing racial trauma. Expressing oneself using these means has been found to be helpful in healing negative experiences. Materials will be provided.
What is racial trauma? The physical and psychological symptoms that people of color often experience after exposure to particularly stressful experiences of racism such as fear and hypervigilance, headaches, body aches, insomnia, memory difficulties, self-blame, confusion, numbing, shame, and guilt. Event Date: January 26 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Location: Multicultural Center, Powell 110 Cost: Free
