Lisa Day - Women's History Keynote: "Order, Chaos & Gender: Women's Art of the Italian Renaissance"

Dr. Lisa Day, Director of EKU Women & Gender Studies, will give this year's Women's History Keynote, “Order, Chaos and Gender: Women’s Art of the Italian Renaissance,” this Thurs. Mar. 2 at 7:30 PM in O’Donnell Hall.

Dr. Day's lecture grows out of on site research conducted in Florence, Italy, where she taught an Education Abroad course exploring feminism and beauty in Italian Renaissance art. Day will be continuing this work again this coming summer with a focus on body and language.

Since arriving at EKU in 2001, Day has earned a reputation as an inspirational professor who relates to her students. Day received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the EKU International Alumni Association in 2011, and was a Critical Thinking Teacher of the Year nominee in 2014-15. She is also a past director of Green Dot @ EKU and helps organize WKU's annual Herstory Conference, now in its 12th year.
