Kelli Carmean - "Mayan Transformations" - Native American Keynote - tonight Thurs. Nov. 16 7:30 PM

  
EKU Chautauqua presents Kelli Carmean on the subject of the intersection of her anthropological research and her new novel, "The House of the Waterlily," tonight, Thurs. Nov. 16 7:30 PM in O'Donnell Hall of the Whitlock Building, in a talk titled, "Mayan Transformations: Historical Fact and Creative Fiction," which serves as EKU's Native American Heritage Keynote. Free and open to the Public. Attendance slips provided.

Dr. Carmean is EKU Foundation Professor 2017-19 and Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Anthropology, Sociology & Social Work. She joined the EKU faculty in 1993, served as Anthropology Coordinator from 2003 to 2010, and as department chair from 2009 to 2015. She currently acts as faculty liaison for the University’s Education Abroad program and is active in the Kentucky Institute for International Studies, teaching and directing programs in Peru and Barcelona.
