AmeriCorps: STEM Graduate Students Needed
Graduate students in a STEM field who did not receive a Graduate Assistant position for Fall 2018 are eligible to apply for an AmeriCorps staff member position. Applicants must have an undergraduate background in science, health sciences, technology, or mathematics
Interested candidates must complete the application by Friday, August 10 or Friday, August 24. Applicants will be reviewed and hired on a first-come, first-served basis.
Position responsibilities:
1.Mentoring 30 undergraduate STEM-H majors
2.Assisting with the development & delivery of student success & retention programming under the direction of Academic Readiness staff
Those selected will receive:
1.11 months/1700 hours of employment
2.A living allowance of $12,630
3.A $5,815 educational award upon full completion of the term of service (Total compensation=$18,445)
4.Health insurance
5.Deferment on the re-payment of undergraduate student loans
6.Childcare subsidy, if needed
