"Rape Jokes:" Screening and Panel Discussion
Tonight!! Don't forget to join EKU Green Dot as we consider the question of whether rape jokes told from the perspective of a survivor be empowering rather than offensive. We are holding a screening of comic and survivor Cameron Esposito's stand-up special "Rape Jokes," which takes a look at rape culture and rape jokes, and their negative consequences. After the screening, EKU Green Dot will facilitate a panel discussion with panelists from Ampersand Sexual Violence Resource Center, EKU Police, EKU Counseling Center, EKU Student Health Services, and EKU Public Health to discuss the special and the concepts of rape culture, consent, bystander intervention, and -- most importantly -- the power of comedy for survivors.
