EKU Guitar Ensemble Concert: October 29, 7:30PM in Gifford Theater
The EKU Guitar Ensemble will perform works for jazz, classical and contemporary guitar on October 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Gifford Theater. This concert will feature the perennial rock favorite "Summer Song," by Joe Satriani, a hard-swinging jazz arrangement of "Four on Six" by Wes Montgomery, a Latin-fusion selection by Jeff Cashen (Blue Latin), and an electric guitar adaption of a concerto for two mandolins (RV 532) by Antonio Vivaldi. The acoustic set includes works by Edward Elgar (Salut d'Amour), Manuel Ponce (Estrellita), and a very cool collection of works by Federico Torroba (Estampas)--and, no concert would be complete without a featured EKU soloist.
