TAYLOR FORK ECOLOGICAL AREA: American Woodcock Viewing

It's a great time of year to hear woodcock calling and to see their amazing display flights at Taylor Fork Ecological Area. They begin calling and displaying after sunset, as it’s getting dark. They’ll begin flying and whirring their wings with a buzzy display flight. Binoculars are not necessary. The trip will take approximately one hour.

Please dress for the weather. The paths are mowed, you will require sturdy walking shoes.
Directions: Taylor Fork Ecological Area is adjacent to south campus. Take Kit Carson Dr to McKinney Skills Dr, then follow the dirt road on the right through the gate. Meet at the astronomy telescope deck parking area to shuttle down to the entrance of Taylor Fork Ecological Area. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1p5Wp_qJtB4290FCnKseVHVkmuho&msa=0&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=37.72072972996851%2C-84.3000475&z=15
