Several EKU units are sponsoring a screening of Battleship Potemkin, which is directed by Sergei Eisenstein and was released in 1925. The film portrays the mutiny that occurred on the Russian battleship Potemkin in 1905. This mutiny contributed to important revolutionary events in Russia that greatly changed Russian government and society. Battleship Potemkin also has a place in movie history as it is considered one of the greatest movies ever filmed as well as being one of the best propaganda style films ever released. As part of the screening, faculty members from the EKU History Department will discuss the context of the film in relation to Russian history as well as its relevance to cinematic history. The faculty members will also answer any questions the audience may have regarding the movie and Russian history. Refreshments will be provided to those who attend.

On Friday, November 13, there will be an Intelligence Workshop in Stratton 202 (Mezzanine) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The workshop will be on Recent Russian Security Deployments, specifically on Russian military operations in the Ukraine and Syria. A presentation on Recent Russian Security Deployments will be given in the morning and in the afternoon there will be a team simulation exercise on the topic. Lunch is provided.
