The Hapkido Club at EKU will be hosting a seminar with Master Tim Roberts. The event will start on February 12 at 5:30 Pm and will feature Logan Kilmon (Co-Founder of the Martial Arts and Self-Defense club)who will hold a lesson for new comers for the basics of Martial Arts. The next day, February 13, will feature Master Roberts teaching both Hapkido and Self-Defense. This lesson will start at 10:00 Am-4:00Pm. This event is open to all skill ranges.

Does traveling to and experiencing another country and culture interest you? What if you could earn college credit at the same time? If this sounds like a perfect opportunity for you, please be sure to attend the upcoming study abroad information session co-hosted by the EKU Education Abroad Office and the BGS IC CAE. During the information sessions, the EKU Education Abroad office will detail the St. Petersburg (Russia) study abroad program that has been developed specifically for EKU students. Possible funding opportunities to cover your expenses will also be covered, which includes scholarships coordinated through the EKU Education Abroad Office and additional funding opportunities through the BGS IC CAE. During this session, you may also inquire about other study abroad programs to countries around the world.

Several EKU units are sponsoring a program in 2015-2016 entitled "The Year of Russian Language, Culture and Politics," which includes courses in Russian language, culture and history, various guest lectures, workshops, and movies with Russian themes, and a Russia study abroad program in Summer 2016. The next upcoming event is a screening of the documentary "Document Russia – Putin: Stairway to Power" (~51 minutes). This documentary tracks the career of Vladimir Putin from KGB spymaster for the USSR to president of the Russian Federation. As part of the screening, faculty members from the EKU History Department and the Homeland Security Degree Program will discuss Vladimir Putin’s background and answer any questions the audience may have. Refreshments will be provided to those who attend. There is no need to register for this event.
