Golden Key is an international honor society that focuses on academics, leadership, and service. This year, EKU is creating an active chapter! This is a great way to get involved on campus and serve the community. EKU Golden Key specifically helps improve literacy rates and real-world preparedness skills for individuals in EKU's service region. Officers and members will host a variety of professional development workshops, academic workshops, and service events. Golden Key will be hosting Rush Week events (free to anyone!) in the Library Aug 29-Sep 1: Monday 8/29 @ 6:30: Chips and Salsa/Game Night - Lib 204H (Cul-de-sac)

University of Louisville professor of philosophy, psychiatry and medical humanities Nancy Nyquist Potter opens the 2016-17 EKU Chautauqua Lecture Series on the theme of "Order and Chaos" with her lecture, "Heroes, Mavericks and Psychopaths: The Virtue and Vice of Defiance," based on her new book from Oxford University Press, "The Virtue of Defiance and Psychiatric Engagement." Potter's previous books include “Mapping the Edges and In-Between: A Critical Analysis of Borderline Personality Disorder” and “How Can I Be Trusted? A Virtue Theory of Trustworthiness.” Nancy Potter has taught philosophy at the University of Louisville since 1995 and is a past president of the Association for the Advancement of Philosophy and Psychiatry, where she continues to serve on the executive council. Free and open to the public. Attendance slips provided for students.

Silent Coffee is a social where we meet in the upstairs room at Purdy's Coffee Co. Here American Sign Language (ASL) is used to communicate and socialize with people who are Deaf and hearing. Signers of all levels are encouraged to attend, socialize, and develop their skills!
