EKU - Division of Natural Areas is hosting the last session of Saturday Morning Science for students grade 1 to 5 this Saturday, Feb 18. The session will include a team building experience, hands-on science fun, a science story with snack and outdoor science in action. All proceeds benefit students enrolled in the International Environmental Service Learning program

The 16th annual University Presentation Showcase - Student Division will be held on April 14. For the UP Showcase, students and faculty/staff mentors can share their collaborative work with the public. Students in all departments who have collaborated with faculty/staff on scholarly and/or creative projects are invited to participate. Projects may include artwork, original writing, research and other scholarly/creative work. Projects that go beyond a classroom assignment are most appropriate, although there are exceptions, e.g. senior theses. If you already have a project completed, please go to http://encompass.eku.edu/swps/ to submit your work! Students must have collaborated on the project with a faculty or staff mentor, who must recommend the student’s project for the Showcase and approve the abstract before submission. Deadline for abstract submission is March 10.

Richard and Mildred relocated with their children to the inner city of Washington, D.C., but the family ultimately tries to find a way back to Virginia." On March 2nd, EKU will host a special guest lecture from Mr. Douglas Wissing. Mr. Wissing is an award-winning journalist, author, and independent scholar who will speak about his experiences embedded with U.S. military forces in Afghanistan. These experiences were detailed in his book Hopeless but Optimistic: Journeying through America’s Endless War in Afghanistan. Refreshments will be provided to all attendees. This event is open and free to all EKU students, faculty, and staff. This event is sponsored by the EKU Department of Government and Economics, the Inner Asian and Uralic National Resource Center at Indiana University, the EKU-led BGS IC CAE, and the EKU Asian Studies Program.
