Ted Gioia - "The Dangerous History of the Love Song," tonight at EKU Chautauqua, 7:30 PM in O'Donnell Hall of the Whitlock Building. Free and open to the public. Proof of attendance provided.

As a pianist, Ted Gioia's recordings with other west coast musicians have received airplay on over 500 radio stations in the US. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Huff Post, Popular Music, and other leading outlets. He is currently a columnist for The Daily Beast. On March 2nd, EKU will host a special guest lecture from Mr. Douglas Wissing. Mr. Wissing is an award-winning journalist, author, and independent scholar who will speak about his experiences embedded with U.S. military forces in Afghanistan. These experiences were detailed in his book Hopeless but Optimistic: Journeying through America’s Endless War in Afghanistan. Refreshments will be provided to all attendees. This event is open and free to all EKU students, faculty, and staff.
