In the 1930s, what began as a botanical research trip propelled two Cincinnati scientist sisters into the fight to save the virgin forest of eastern Kentucky, and forever changed ecological science and environmental conservation.
Drawing on both storytelling and theatrical traditions, EKU professor Dr. Alice Jones explores the lives and careers of sister scientists Annette Braun (1884-1978) and E. Lucy Braun (1889-1971)--the first two women to earn PhDs at the University of Cincinnati.
The one-act play is free and open to the public, and Jones will be available afterward for conversation.

EKU Theatre's last mainstage show of the season! A tribute from Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo) to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, The Fox on the Fairway is filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans. It's a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics and a charmingly madcap adventure about love, life and man's enternal love affair with... golf.
