Tree Campus USA Planting Service Day (Ft. American Chestnut) at Taylor Fork Ecological Area and Chestnut Orchard VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Join us for tree planting and honeysuckle removal. Be sure to bring your lunch and wear long pants and closed-toed shoes for your protection. Dress for the weather! EVENT ITINERARY 10:00 am to 2:00 pm American Chestnut Seed and Research Orchard: Direct Seed Planting 12:00 am to 4:00 pm Taylor Fork Ecological Area: Tree Plantings, Treatments, and Honeysuckle Removal Shuttles will run on a half hour route to the planting site from 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM stopping at the following locations: Whitlock Building, Perkins Building and Daniel Boone statue. Hurry the Colonel Crew Application closes TONIGHT, April 14th, at midnight! This engaging leadership opportunity allows you to positively impact first-year students as they embark on their college experience during the Big E Welcome, August 16-20, 2017.
Colonel Crew Leaders lead a small group of first-year students through dynamic programming, discussions, and experiences during the Big E Welcome. Big E Welcome helps first-year students build their Colonel spirit, make meaningful connections to EKU students and staff, and prepares them for their experience inside and outside the classroom.
In addition to the opportunity to make a positive impact on the university and first-year students, Colonel Crew Leaders will receive the following: early move-in, meals during training and Big E Welcome, EKU swag, and numerous transferable skills and resume builders.
