The Iota Delta chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. will is hosting a fundraiser today from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on the Fratio (Front of Greek Towers). The even will allow you to purchase water balloons to soak a Sigma.

After nearly 200 people from all over the country attended Vector last year, we have extended Vector to a two-day event. We have a concert by Minecraft Composer c418, a documentary film screening on the community around a famous New York video arcade, and talks/workshops by indies all over the country as well as folks from Bungie, Ubisoft, Devolver Digital, Google and more. We are bringing in professional games musician Daniel "C418" Rosenfeld, from Berlin, Germany, who is probably best known for his work on the hit game Minecraft.
Local musician 2 Mello, best known for his work on ROM 2046 will serve as the opening act. We will also be showcasing a collection of locally made games! Admission is Free with Vector Tickets or may be purchased separately (See "More on this Announcement").

This Saturday we will be showing the film "the Lost Arcade," a film about the Chinatown Fair, a New York City arcade, and the community that made it legendary. Following the film, we will have a Q&A with award-winning director Kurt Vincent The screening will be at the EKU Hummel Planetarium.

Want to join in the discussion on LGBTQ+ issues in a safe space? Join National Residence Hall Honorary for Sexuality in the Dark, the last In the Dark series program for Spring 2017. During this program students will be able to participate in a safe and facilitated discussion led by Molly McKinney from the Department Health Promotion and Administration with free food provided by NRHH for those that attend! Students will also be able to take part in a keychain crafting activity and have the opportunity to discuss the selected topic in an open, welcoming environment “In the Dark.” The program will be held on Thursday, April 20th in Powell Underground at 5PM. We hope to see you there!

Join the Office of Sustainability for an Earth Day Festival on April 26th from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM in the lower Powell Plaza. There will be live music, local environmental organizations, and fun activities including a cardboard fort building competition and a rain barrel workshop. ReFuel is the Wesley Foundation's Thursday night worship service, set in a relaxed cafe setting. This week’s message will be on personal goals for the summer. There will be refreshment, such as pastries and coffee.

Tree Campus USA Planting Service Day (Ft. American Chestnut) at Taylor Fork Ecological Area and Chestnut Orchard VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Join us for tree planting and honeysuckle removal. Help us memorialize victims and honor survivors of interpersonal violence by attending the Clothesline Project and Take Back the Night. EKU participates in these nationally celebrated activist events to raise awareness about the need for safety and violence prevention. From noon until 9:00 p.m., the Clothesline Project will provide t-shirts for participants to design based on their own or their loved ones' experiences. The t-shirts are anonymous and hang on our clothesline for all passersby to view. From 9:00 to 11:00 p.m., Take Back the Night features speakers from Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center and Hope's Wings Domestic Violence Program and an open mic for survivors, followed by a candlelight vigil for victims and a march around campus for consciousness raising.

The KEA-SP and the Jesse Stuart Literacy Council will co-host a “Teacher Roundtable” for all Teacher Education Majors on Wednesday, April 26, 5 – 6 pm in Model Lab School Library. A panel of 8 experienced and new teachers from Model, Madison and Estill Counties, from all levels and subject areas will answer your questions about their teaching jobs and the education profession. Refreshments and door prizes provided!
