In collaboration with FitTrace, the EKU Exercise and Sport Science Department is finishing a fat loss challenge! Final scans for the competition are occurring this week April 24th- 30th. In order to be eligible you need to come in for your final scan. If you did not do the beginning scan for participation you are not eligible. Prize monies will be awarded to participants for overall loss of fat mass and fat mass percentage: 1st place -- $300.00
2nd place -- $200.00

Join Student Life & First-Year Experience for the first-ever Escape Games Powell. We will transform the Kennamer, Herndon, and Jaggers Rooms into three different escape game scenarios featuring epidemics, zombies, defusing a bomb and more. You and your team will have one hour to find the clues, solve the puzzle and fulfill your mission. Each room can accommodate up to 10 students. Free and open to EKU Students. The EKU Office of Military and Veteran Affairs will host an end of the year picnic for our student military family on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Burnam House. All Veterans, members of the National Guard, Reserve Forces, ROTC Cadets, and military dependents are invited to attend. There will be free food, music, corn hole competitions, and door prizes. Following the picnic, there will be a meeting for those interested in attending to discuss the future direction of the current VETS club on campus. The Office of Military & Veteran Affairs is interested in your input and everyone is encouraged to attend this meeting. Beginning July 10th, EKU Theatre will be hosting a series of summer programming for students and audiences of all ages! Collaborating with the Richmond Arts Council, a Summer Shakespeare Camp will be available for students from grades three and up. Later, a high school student intensive will build fundamental acting skills with faculty and surprise, professional guests. Finally, a thrilling production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest will be performed in the Ravine July 20-22! The Legislative Research Commission is seeking applications for its Legislative Intern Program for the 2018 Session of the Kentucky General Assembly. This is a full-time program running January-April 2018 for which students receive a monthly stipend of $1500 and can earn up to 15 EKU credits. The application deadline is May 15. The second annual Colonels' Choice Awards, presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, will be held Sunday, April 30 at the EKU Center for the Arts. A reception will be held in the lobby at 6 p.m., followed by a ceremony in the auditorium at 7:15 p.m. The Colonels' Choice Awards recognize academic achievements and athletic performances by Eastern Kentucky University student-athletes during the 2016-17 season.
