In observance of September 11th, EKU will host a series of programs and service projects. These events will honor the heroes who have served their communities and nation since the tragic events which took place on September 11th, 2001. We invite the campus and local community to join us for a day of service and remembrance. Event Schedule for September 11th:
8:30 AM: The 9/11 Memorial Service, Memorial Plaza, outside the Powell Building
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Blood Drive, Powell Student Center
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Registration for Climb 1, EKU Center for the Arts
4:00 PM – 11 PM: 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, EKU Center for the Arts & Keene Hall
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM: First Climb at Keene Hall
6:30 PM –7:30 PM: Registration for Climb 2, EKU Center for the Arts
7:45 PM: 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, Center for the Arts
Immediately following the ceremony until 11:00 PM: Second Climb at Keene Hall

Ready for adventure? Well here’s a great way to start, on September 16th you can experience underground kayaking at Red River Gorge, KY with some of your best friends!
 
All Campus Recreation Adventure Program Trips include food, transportation and all gear necessary for the adventure. Time of departure is dependent upon your schedule. We also can assist with any dietary restriction to ensure you have the best trip possible. All trips are student run by certified medically trained guides and on all of our trips no experience is necessary. If you want to try something new and different checkout Adventure Programs! The cost for this adventure is only $60!

Did you know that Campus Recreation offers Group Fitness classes? We offer a variety of classes weekly, from cycling, to Zumba, yoga, hip hop and cardio, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Each class can be modified to allow all fitness levels to receive a great and fun workout! Registration is required for attendance in every class.

Come out to the Richmond Skate Center TONIGHT any time between 7:30-10:00pm and meet the members of Alpha Phi Omega. As a co-ed (male/female) Community Service fraternity - Alpha Phi Omega; we are founded on the principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service. Come show us your Big E spirit! Join Student Life & First-Year Experience next Friday in Middle Powell kick off the Colonel’s first football game by painting your very own big E. Each student can paint one cardboard "E" to bring to the game or display in your residence hall! Snacks and soda are provided.

SENIORS!! To be eligible for student teaching in your professional semester, you must complete the online application in EKU Direct. The application will only be available until Midnight on Friday, September 15th and it will automatically close. The file is located under the Student Services tab and is the 10th folder listed. Once you have completed it and included the county for your first preference, you must go to that county's Board of Education and complete a local and federal background check. Bring our form with signatures back to Combs 423 before October 15th along with your Physical Form, TB Risk Assessment, Professional Liability Insurance (from either KEA or KAPE) and the certificate from KET's Promoting Positive Behavior Modules. The forms and live links are available on the TES webpage, www.tes.eku.edu/student resources.
