Celebrate National Yoga Month in September with Campus Recreation! National Yoga Month was developed to raise awareness of yoga's health benefits and provide people with guidance and tools to improve their well-being.
So get your Yoga on by learning a new pose every day, and posting it to social media for a chance to win prizes! Start by picking up a yoga tracking sheet at the front desk of the Campus Recreation Center. Then follow along each day on Instagram to see the selected yoga pose. Be sure to use the hash tag #GetYourYogaOn and tag @EKUCampusRec when you post on social media to be entered for the chance to win a free yoga mat!

The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards is excited to announce recruitment for a new Student Judicial Committee! Committee members, called Advocates, are student members of the EKU Community wishing to make a positive change on campus. Advocates will serve in a dual-role by hearing cases of alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct, and also by advocating for students. Advocates are vital to the mission of providing outreach and education to our student body. This is a year-long commitment. There will be two committees that meet weekly during the academic year. One committee will meet on Wednesdays at 4:00pm, and the other on Thursdays at 3:00pm. You may choose which committee you want to apply for.
Requirements to apply:
- A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- At least 30 institutional credit hours Cost: Free

Hummel Planetarium and College of Science are teaming up to celebrate Science and Mathematics Week. Come see a free planetarium show: "Two Small Pieces of Glass - The Amazing Telescope."
Two Small Pieces of Glass illustrates the history of the telescope from Galileo’s modifications to a child’s spyglass. After the show, there will be a special presentation and Q & A session by Physics and Astronomy professor Dr. Mark Pitts. This event is open to the public, first-come, first-served seating for 194 people.

Advanced manufacturing is a key capability for enabling sustainable, long-duration human spaceflight missions. In this talk Dr. Tracie Prater will provide a broad overview of NASA technology development efforts in the areas of manufacturing for space, in-space, and on the planetary surface. Dr. Prater will also discuss her background and personal journey to her current role at NASA.

SENIORS!! To be eligible for student teaching in your professional semester, you must complete the online application in EKU Direct. The application will only be available until Midnight on Friday, September 15th and it will automatically close. The file is located under the Student Services tab and is the 10th folder listed. Once you have completed it and included the county for your first preference, you must go to that county's Board of Education and complete a local and federal background check. Bring our form with signatures back to Combs 427 before October 15th along with your Physical Form, TB Risk Assessment, Professional Liability Insurance (from either KEA or KAPE) and the certificate from KET's Promoting Positive Behavior Modules. Students will study the integration of foods and nutrition, fashion and apparel, and children and families within the context of the Italian culture. The course will emphasize the interdisciplinary nature of these fields and the benefits to individuals, families, and communities. Students will access the rich resources of Florence by visiting food markets, wineries and culinary schools, fashion design houses, programs for children and families, and textile factories.
