Earn 3 credit hours in London during CCSA's two-week mid-summer program. You will reside in en-suite accommodation at Moonraker Point in the exciting Southwark area of London, while studying with faculty and students from other CCSA member schools at the University of London King's College Waterloo Campus. “Sisters of the Mother Forest” (Alice Jones) &
“Jean Ritchie: Damsel with a Dulcimer” (Rachel Rogers)
Join us for one great night of theater featuring two one-woman one-act stories of real-life ornery women in eastern Kentucky. EKU’s Dr. Alice Jones in “Sisters of the Mother Forest,” which tells the story of Annette and Lucy Braun—the first and second women to earn PhDs at the University of Cincinnati and how a 1940 botanical research trip to Pine Mountain propelled the two scientist sisters into the fight to save the virgin forest of eastern Kentucky.
Rachel Rogers steps in as “Damsel with a Dulcimer” Jean Ritchie—the Viper, Kentucky native whose long and prolific singing and songwriting career helped launch the nation-wide folk music revival of the 50s and 60s. Sponsored by EKU’s Appalachian Studies and Theatre Programs, and supported in part by the Kentucky Humanities Council.

The first BGS IC CAE intelligence workshop of the year will focus on Social Networking and Intelligence. Facilitated by a Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT) instructor, this hands-on workshop will overview criminal uses of social networking, the Dark Web, and investigative and intelligence collection techniques.
