The Cat in the Hat will be reading "There's No Place Like Space!" After the reading, there will be a showing of Accidental Astronauts. Admission is $2.00 per person, ages 3 and under free. Suggested for families and children between the ages 2 and 8. 2:00-4:00 pm Cosmic Art!
See Earth, Moon & Sun in the theater and then explore Cosmic Art with Professors and students from EKU’s Department of Art & Design! Learn how to create elements of space on paper using pastels and then create and leave with your own masterpiece! Admission is $10 for the show + art OR $5.00 for just the show. This activity is suggested for ages 8 and up. 6:00pm Wall-E!

The EKU Fencing Club is having open tryouts for anyone interested in the sport. No experience is necessary. We compete in intercollegiate competitions. This is not a commitment to join the club, but an opportunity to see if you want to. If you have any questions feel free to email us.

Telling Our Own Stories: How Appalachian Storytelling Traditions Shape our Past and Future Join Kentucky living legend Gurney Norman and Tennessee “storytelling preacher” Michael Williams to celebrate Appalachia’s storytelling traditions and how they shape the past, present, and future. They will be joined by poets Savannah Sipple and Jay McCoy, co-creators of Breir Books—a new bookshop/ story swap/ community gathering space coming to Lexington where “it ain’t holy unless the doors are open to all.” All Appalachian Heritage Festival events are free and open to the public, Donations of school supplies or canned goods to communities in need encouraged

Appalachia is made up of many diverse cultures and traditions. Stop by Powell Corner between 11:30 – 1:30 to celebrate this diversity and the growing local foods movement in Appalachia through samples and stories with Perry County activist and educator Jenny Williams. With flavors hailing from Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Asia, and the mountain smokehouses, Jenny will elevate this simple dish of beans-and-greens to a conversation about diversity, community, and local food movement in Appalachia. Featuring local greens from EKU’s Red Barn Garden, and cosponsored by African-African-American Studies, Asian Studies, & Environmental Sustainability & Stewardship All Appalachian Heritage Festival events are free and open to the public, Donations of school supplies or canned goods to communities in need encouraged

Join us for the 40th Annual Homecoming 5K! The run will lead the Homecoming Parade this year. As the runners approach the finish line, they will burst through the tunnel and fog just like the Colonels do on game day!

Join the Office of Sustainability on October 7th from 3:30 - 8:00 PM in the Alumni Colliseum Lot to volunteer for an exciting recycling competition and other fun activities, including painting can houses for Habitat for Humanity! Volunteers needed: Help distribute blue recycling bags (one for cans, one for other recyclables, one for trash), sorting recyclables, gathering and weighing recyclables, painting can houses, promoting recycling on campus Students RSVP Via OrgSync:
