Conference content will address issues in education from K-12 to higher education. A keynote luncheon address will be offered by Dr. Deneese Jones who is the VP of Academic Affairs/Provost at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She will be discussing diversity and leadership in higher education. Additionally, breakout sessions will be offered in the following five areas:

All students will be invited by email to participate in a Campus Safety Climate Survey. You will receive a link to the Survey from "EKU Office of Institutional Research" on Feb. 14, with reminder emails to follow. The Survey will be open through March 30. The Survey will examine your attitudes toward EKU's safety climate, as well as your experiences with bullying, alcohol, sexual misconduct and other topics. Please participate! Also, be on the lookout in your email for opportunities and instructions to win FREE PRIZES if you complete the survey.

SENIORS!! To be eligible for Fall 2018 student teaching, you MUST complete an online application. The application will automatically open at midnight on February 1st and close at midnight on February 15th. The application will be on EKU Direct under the Student Services and Financial Aid tab. It will be the 10th folder. Once you have submitted the forms, go to the board of education at the county of your FIRST preference and have a background check completed. The five documents that will be required are online at www.tes.eku.edu

We are asking that faculty, staff and students reserve the Alumni Coliseum parking lot, the Whitlock lot, and the upper Commonwealth lot (Commonwealth cage lot) for our guests from Wednesday, January 24 - Sunday, January 28th. It is anticipated that the Eastern Bypass will be impacted with heavy traffic at times. Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate pathways to and from campus Wednesday – Sunday.

Enter your research project in the 2018 Library Research Award for Undergraduates competition before March 19 for your chance to win a cash prize. Made possible by the Friends of EKU Libraries, this award recognizes and awards undergraduate students whose research makes expert and creative use of the services, resources, and collections of EKU Libraries to produce a scholarly or creative work.
