The Rally for Higher Education is a bi-partisan event held statewide through many colleges. The purpose for this rally is to raise awareness of the effects of state budget cuts, pension costs, and the eliminations of our programs, faculty, and staff. The It's On Us campaign was launched in September 2014 to put an end to sexual assault. The campaign asks everyone from students to organizations to be a part of the solution. Eastern has taken a pledge to implement the program on our campus.
To enter, submit a poem pertaining to sexual assault and awareness and include the saying, "Hey Y'all, It's On Us"
The last date to submit an entry is April 30th and the winner will be chosen May 1st. Winner will receive an It's On Us Swag Bag .

Come hike with Campus Rec on April 27th-29th! For this trip, we will be exploring the beautiful lands of Tennessee! We will be hiking all over different sections of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. This trip is primarily hiking and camping but will also involve many opportunities for scenic views such as waterfalls, overlooks, and arches. Join us for a crazy fun time meeting fellow students on campus while enjoying the beautiful scenery in Big South Fork, Tennessee! The cost for this adventure is only $60! Dr. Gregory Smith will speak about his use of science to unravel mysteries surrounding the artworks at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. Using a range of spectroscopic, chromatrographic, and imaging techniques, his team employs the tools of chemistry to discover lost paintings, explore the material history of objects, and detect forgeries. The lecture will explore the various roles that chemists can play in a fine arts museum, culminating in recent research repurposing the world's oldest manmade pigment-Egyptian blue first synthesized in 3200 BCE - as a luminescent fingerprinting dusting powder to catch modern-day criminals.

Join us as we celebrate the success of our advocacy and awareness campaign and the strength of survivors by welcoming Attorney General Andy Beshear to EKU!! Attorney General Beshear is an outspoken advocate for survivors seeking justice and a champion for prevention and prosecution of campus sexual assault and violence. Attorney General Beshear will speak on sexual violence and prevention, as well as announce the total number of pledges we received over the course of the It's On Us Pledge Drive. Come early or stick around after to participate in the Women and Gender Studies annual Clothesline Project as well.

Eastern Kentucky University, in collaboration with Student Government Association and The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs will be hosting the 3rd Annual Diversity Summit on Saturday April 14th 2018. The theme for this year’s summit is: C.R.O.W.N - Create Restore Originate Win and Navigate. Our overall message for the summit is - "Come As One ... Leave As A Village". The Summit will be located on campus at Crabbe Library. Registration will begin at 9:00am and the conference will kick off at 10:00am! We will have a day full of learning and networking opportunities. A light breakfast & lunch will be provided to all participants. We hope to see you all there! AmeriCorps KY READY Corps is recruiting for the 2018-2019 academic year, 4/1/18 through 7/1/18. Members will serve on a part-time basis at a variety of area non-profits, supporting disaster preparedness and resiliency projects for vulnerable populations including people with disabilities, people with English literacy and proficiency challenges, and youth/young adults. Members will serve approximately 18-24 hours per week, depending on service term, and earn a modest living allowance as well as an education award at end of service. Service time may count towards academic credit for internships and other credit-bearing courses.

Tennessee has various hotspot climbing varieties including: trad climbing, sport climbing, and bouldering.
