Decorated historian Robert Darnton of Harvard University will close out the 2017-18 Chautauqua Lecture Series on Thursday, April 19, at 7:30 PM in O'Donnell Hall, with a lecture on "Censorship and Literary Transformation: Bourbon France, British India and Communist East Germany." Free and open to the public. Attendance slips provided. Robert Darnton is the author of dozens of important books of cultural history, a distinguished Professor of History and Librarian Emeritus at Harvard University, a Trustee of the New York Public Library and the former President of the International Society for Eighteenth Century Studies. His is a recipient of the National Humanities Medal, a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur of France, and a MacArthur "Genius" Award winner. His most recent book, just published in 2018, is "A Literary Tour de France."

Join representatives from Special Collections and Archives (SCA), the Noel Studio for Academic Creativity, and student participants from the inaugural Archives After Dark event to find out. Archives After Dark invited EKU students to develop—and publish—original creative works inspired by real historical artifacts from EKU’s very own archives. During this Scholars Week featured student panel, Archives After Dark participants will discuss their work and their creative process.

Join Greek Life and the fraternities and sororities at EKU as they make a statement that we will not tolerate sexual violence here at Eastern and they are committed to contribute to an environment where sexual assault is unacceptable, survivors are supported and believed, victim blaming is challenged, and consent and boundaries are respected. It is not too late to join us for the third annual Maywoods 5K Trail Race and Fun Run. The Trail Race will take runners through beautiful woodlands of the Knobs region as the spring wildflowers are beginning to pop!
Prizes are provided by Mike's Hike and Bike. The Fun Run is for kids ages 4-8 and will be held during the 5K. All proceeds from this fundraising event will go toward EKU's international environmental service learning programs. God's Outreach is partnering with Richmond Kroger to bring you the first annual "Lettuce Beet Hunger Together" Event. We will be bringing awareness to the need in Madison County and letting you know how you can help. There will be free hot dogs and Pepsi starting at 11 am til there gone. There will be a cookie decorating station for the kids. Free face painting and games by Force Dance Academy.

Attorney General Beshear is an outspoken advocate for survivors seeking justice and a champion for prevention and prosecution of campus sexual assault and violence. Attorney General Beshear will speak on sexual violence and prevention, as well as announce the total number of pledges we received over the course of the It's On Us Pledge Drive. Come early or stick around after to participate in the Women and Gender Studies annual Clothesline Project as well. *Walnut Hall in Keen Johnson will serve as the alternate location if there is inclement weather.

Eastern Kentucky University, in collaboration with Student Government Association and The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs will be hosting the 3rd Annual Diversity Summit on Saturday April 14th 2018. The theme for this year’s summit is: C.R.O.W.N - Create Restore Originate Win and Navigate. Our overall message for the summit is - "Come As One ... Leave As A Village".
