The College of Business and Technology welcomes EKU alumna Dr. Delphina Hopkins-Gillispie and alumnus Mr. Charley E. Gillispie as the 2019 Black History Month Executive Speakers. Dr. Hopkins-Gillispie earned a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences from EKU. She has had a distinguished career in higher education, retiring from Valparaiso as an Associate Professor in Biology and Education.
Mr. Gillispie graduated with a Bachelor and Master's degree in Accounting from EKU. After serving as the first African American partner at the accounting firm of Deloitte Haskins & Sells, Mr. Gillispie entered higher education administration. He retired from Valparaiso University as the Vice President for Administration and Finance.

EKU Campus Recreation is offering functional training small groups. This session will start on January 28th through March 8th, it is $30 per person. Reserve your spot today! This training is all about patterns! Mondays, you will learn foundational movement patterns, how they are utilized in your everyday life, and go through conditioning to help you recover faster, decrease body fat levels, improve sleep quality, and improve your overall fitness level. On Fridays, we will head to the fitness floor to apply resistance to the patterns you have learned thus far to increase muscle, bone and surrounding connective tissue strength, and enhance your overall quality of life.

SENIORS!! To be eligible for Fall 2019 student teaching, you MUST complete an online application. The application will automatically open at midnight on February 1st and close at midnight on February 15th. The application will be on EKU Direct under the Student Services and Financial Aid tab. It will be the 10th folder. Once you have submitted the forms, go to the board of education at the county of your FIRST preference and have a background check completed. Course Description: Are modern media depictions of Scottish history in Braveheart, Brave, Highlander, Rob Roy and Outlander historically accurate? This course will compare modern conceptions of Scottish history and culture to the reality of the medieval, early modern, and Victorian eras. Visit castles, historical homes of the rich and poor, churches, & museums to learn if Scots really painted themselves blue for battle and loved or hated England, Mary, Queen of Scots, and Bonnie Prince Charlie. Explore highlands and the lowlands, learn why Americans claim Scottish heritage, explore myths of kilts and haggis.
