We have several great trips for spring break, and you can find more information about each trip below. On all of the trips, you will have the opportunity to work directly with professionals in each field, learn more about different cultures/environments, and get hands on experience working In historic presentation, disaster relief, and/or environmental conservation. Deadline, March 1st, though signups are expected to fill before.

The Division of Natural Areas will host the Saturday Morning Science program, where students participate in interactive, hands-on learning experiences.
This week's theme is "Thunder and Lightning Drums & More". We will have several great guest instructors. Drs. Don and Sonja Yow will be leading an experiment with static electricity and help participants make musical instruments that sound like thunder. Rae McIntyre will lead a learning experiment about adaptations--in the outdoors if possible.
The session is designed for students in grades 1-5. The cost is $30 per student, with discounts for multiple students from one family and for attending multiple sessions. All proceeds benefit students enrolled in EKU's international environmental service learning program.

Interested in community service - with benefits? EKU AmeriCorps is recruiting through April 1 for Summer and Fall 2019! Join KY READY Corps, a part-time, state-wide AmeriCorps program that focuses on disaster preparedness and resilience for vulnerable populations. Serve 300, 450 or 1200 hours, depending on service slot, earn a living allowance and education award at end of service as well as valuable professional experience. Did you know your Vet-Success Counselor visits the main Library, every Wednesday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, to answer all your VA benefit related questions? Steve Johnson will be at the Library today starting at 11:00, so he can answer benefit questions, assist with tutoring help, give assistance through the food pantry, and any other needs you have on campus. Additionally, if you are running out of Post 9-11 benefits and have a service connected disability, he can assist with another program. The speakers are Diane Parrish and Dave Cooper. Diane Parrish is the president of Making a Difference Now (MADN). Dave Cooper is the Program Coordinator of Animal Rescue in Appalachia, part of The Kentucky Dog Project.
