EKU Public Safety will be conducting a limited test of our Alertus computer pop ups and beacons today at 12:20PM. This test is necessary to check the functionality of a new server built for use with Rave Mobile Safety, our primary Emergency Notification System. This test will be limited to the Email and Alertus (computer pop up and beacon) alert methods only. Thank you for your support in testing these important notification systems. The College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences (CLASS) is offering a $500 stipend to a graduating student to present a commencement speech at the Spring 2019 Graduation Ceremony. To be eligible, you must have applied for Spring or Summer 2019 Graduation within CLASS.
•Speeches should be about 4-5 minutes in length, which is about 3-4 pages of double-spaced text.
•MSWord or Rich Text Format, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, with normal one-inch margins
•At the top of text please include full name, EKU ID number, major, expected degree, and department.
Submit speeches before the end of the day Friday, March 22nd, by sending an e-mail attachment of the text to Dr. Amy Thieme at amy.thieme@eku.edu.
Interviews with finalists will be Wednesday, April 3rd.

The EKU Agriculture Club is putting on their annual lawnmower clinic. You can drop your lawnmowers off at the shop located within the Carter building. We charge 25 dollars per push mower and 50 dollars per riding mower. These costs will cover basic maintenance. It will cover sharpening the blades of the lawnmower, power washing it, changing the oil, cleaning the air filter and checking the spark plug. If you need other things done to your mower you can contact us and we can negotiate a price depending on the work you need done.
Lawnmowers can be dropped off between 12:00 and 1:00 as well as 3:00 and 4:00 on March 22nd and 25th. They can be picked up from 12:00 to 4:00 on March 29th.

SATURDAY MORNING SCIENCE: Feathered Friends Field Trip
The Division of Natural Areas will host the Saturday Morning Science program, where students participate in interactive, hands-on learning experiences.
This week's theme is Feathered Friends Field Trip. Students will learn about a variety of bird characteristics and then travel to Taylor Fork Ecological Area on campus and work with EKU grad schools to mist net and band birds.
The session is designed for students in grades 1-5. The cost is $30 per student, with discounts for multiple students from one family and for attending multiple sessions.
All proceeds benefit students enrolled in EKU's International Environmental Service Learning program.
