The EKU Division of Natural Areas invites you to the first event of the Fall Nature Exploration Series. Come join us while we catch, process and band birds! We will teach you the techniques and scientific implications of bird banding and mist netting. You will get an up-close look at Kentucky’s native fliers, as well as hints from the pros on identification techniques. Maroon Machine is the 45 member EKU Pep Band. The band plays at home volleyball & basketball games, and other events, and travels to basketball tournaments. The band is open to any EKU student who plays flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, and drum set. Auditions are THIS THURSDAY! Members earn $500 scholarship and .5 class credit in the fall and spring; both semesters are required for participation. It meets from 8-9 PM on Thursday evenings. You must be available during this time slot, during typical game times (Thursdays and Saturdays) AND you must be available for the tournament trip (first week in March). Students are not required to make 100% of games, and a rotation policy is set up so students can adequately participate, while balancing school and work. The west upper section of Alumni Coliseum Commuter lot will be reserved on Sept 6, for Model's Grandparents Day.

First meeting of Every Body, Everybody. We spread positivity, kindness, and self-love. Each week we have a focus topic like dealing with stress, body image, etc. We try to do 1-2 service events a semester. No meeting is required; it's come as you can. Stop by 323B in the Library on Wednesday at 7 pm to learn more and meet the group.

We are hosting a Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament in room 229 of the University Building. There will be both a free bracket and $3 paid bracket with cash payout. Feel free to bring your own controller or use one of the club provided controllers. Setups will be available for free play when they are not needed for tournament matches. Room opens at 6:30, free bracket starts at 7:00, and paid bracket starts at 7:30.

Don't forget to register for this training course and become a Certified Personal Trainer. In this 7-week hybrid training course offered by the World Instructor Training School for Personal Trainers. This training is open to all students. The Green Dot Bystander Training is designed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge, connection, and skill to increase their proactive and reactive bystander behaviors. Registration is REQUIRED. Students who participate in the event will leave with a Green Dot Certificate. This certification is a great resume booster!
