Coping with the Death of a Loved One
Grief group is a friendly, caring space shared with other EKU students coping with death of a loved one. While you may be experiencing one of life’s most difficult experiences, you don't have to go through the grieving process alone. This weekly virtual group is provided by the EKU Counseling Center and hosted through a secure video platform. The EKU VETS Office would like to invite all students, faculty, staff, and community members to participate in the Veterans Day National Roll Call of Fallen Heroes on Wednesday, November 11th, 2020. The National Roll Call will be conducted from 6:30 am to 1:30 pm at Powell Corner between the Powell Building and Case Dining, where we will read aloud the names of our fallen heroes from recent military conflicts since 2001. Join the EKU Counseling Center staff today for a workshop on Distress Tolerance. When life feels like you’re currently in the middle of an unfinished Jumanji game, your emotions can activate with a high degree of intensity. Changes in your daily routine and the people you’re around can lead to a mixture of emotions. These new experiences can be stressful. The tools provided in this workshop are aimed to provide you with skills to navigate these intense emotions and increase the positive experiences throughout your day.

Affirm is a collaborative group working toward acceptance through education and open discussion toward LGBTQ+ life experiences. This is a virtual therapy group through the EKU Psychology Clinic, is conducted by EKU Clinical Psychology doctoral students, and hosted through Zoom. We meet Monday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Starting today, you can cast your vote for the 2020 Homecoming King and Queen candidates via EKU Direct. You may vote for up to 3 King and 3 Queen candidates. Voting is open until October 15. Finalists will be announced during Homecoming Trivia on Monday, October 19. Winners will be crowned during the Homecoming game on Saturday, October 24.
