Faculty and staff can take advantage of technology purchase assistance by contacting ITDS Academic Support staff members (including the EKU Computer Store staff) who have access to academic, institutional, and governmental pricing from numerous vendors. In order to assure compatibility with current EKU technology standards and support levels as well as to achieve the best possible pricing, all technology-related purchases are first reviewed by ITDS staff before being processed by EKU’s Purchasing Department. If need be, other staff members in the Networking & Technical Support Department are included in the discussions. Pricing, direct quotes, and recommendations are frequently requested for computers (desktop and laptop), printers, digital cameras, data/video projectors, cables, software, and the components of assembling “smart” classrooms. In many cases, a different vendor may be recommended in order to achieve the best possible price.
The purchase of equipment and software for personal use using academic pricing is also a special service of the EKU Computer Store.
